Regional Hot Spots

Palisades Reservoir, about 15 minutes from Grouse Creek Ranch, provides a picturesque boating and fishing environment.

World famous for its skiing, shopping, and authentic western atmosphere, Jackson Hole, about 50 miles north, offers an experience unlike anywhere else in the American West.

Grand Teton National Park, just beyond Jackson, is a spectacular landscape rich with wildlife, pristine lakes, and the breathtaking Teton Mountain Range.

Continuing north, you’ll find Yellowstone National Park, known world-wide for wildlife, trails, natural hot springs and geysers.

Skiing

Snow King Resort in Jackson and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village offer world class skiing. Taking advantage of the more than 500 inches a year of snow that also blankets the Idaho side of the Tetons, Grand Targhee Resort in Alta offers fabulous skiing and snowmobiling.

Fishing and Hunting

From Yellowstone's biggest lakes to Star Valley's best hidden streams, anglers enjoy an abundance of excellent fishing sites throughout the region. In addition to Pallisades Reservoir, the Star Valley area boasts its quiet, meandering Salt River, the adjoining Greys River, and the legendary South Fork of the Snake River, all within a short distance from the Ranch. Explore an abundance of small rivers, creeks, and lakes just a short drive from home, and discover your own favorite fishing hole.

Hunting is an age-old tradition in the Idaho and Wyoming mountains. For serious hunters, horseback riding and ATV’s take the experience to another level.

South of Alpine, a winter feeding ground for hundreds of wild elk is a reminder of the area's abundance of game.

Only 30 minutes from Grouse Creek Ranch, Afton's FBO offers a new 7023 ft. runway and airport facility. The airports in Jackson Hole and Idaho Falls, ID service both private and commercial airlines.
